Vision Statement

People with mental illness can live healthy and productive lives, as family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.

Buckelew’s vision statement reflects its belief that anyone of us can be impacted by a mental illness, and that if we are, we still deserve the opportunity for full participation in all aspects of our society. It also embodies the beliefs that people with serious mental illness can and do recover.

Mission Statement

Buckelew Programs provides assistance to individuals with mental illness to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities.

Buckelew’s mission statement reflects a core belief that adults with mental illness can be assisted to live in a manner that maximizes their independence, their dignity, and their active participation in their community. It also reflects a belief in the importance of both services and housing, as essential components in the process of recovering from the devastating effects of a serious mental illness.

Buckelew Programs’ Environmental Values Statement

Buckelew is committed to developing innovative and flexible models of mental health recovery and wellness. Environmental responsibility and practices that promote sustainable lives are integral to that mission.
We fulfill this mission by a commitment to:

To make tangible our values in practice, Buckelew has established a Green Team, a group of volunteer employees that helps to develop company-wide initiatives that both educate and implement our sustainability goals. The purpose of the Green Team is to pioneer and champion environmentally friendly practices, to connect those practices and values to the delivery of client services, and to share that knowledge both within Buckelew and with our constituents.
