Chris Kughn, LMFT

Chief Executive Officer

Chris Kughn (he/him) joined Buckelew Programs in May of 2019 as Chief Executive Officer with more than 20 years of experience in the public, private, and nonprofit behavioral healthcare systems. Before Buckelew, Chris served in several executive management roles.

As Executive Director of Solano County for Caminar, a nonprofit behavioral health social service organization, Chris built strong community partnerships through transparency, trust, and collaboration. Chris served in several management roles with Marin County Department of Health and Human Services, including Division Director of Adult and Older Adult Services. His commitment to nonprofit behavioral health services began with his work as a licensed therapist serving adults, children, and families in myriad circumstances, including juvenile justice, crisis stabilization, and adult homeless systems.

Chris earned a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and an M.A. degree in Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. He is a member of the California Association of Social Rehabilitation Agencies (CASRA). He lives in Marin County and is an avid mountain biker, cyclist, and scuba diver.
