Providing compassionate mental health and substance use treatment services to the North Bay since 1970. Accessible care for all.
Buckelew Programs was founded in 1971 as Buckelew Farms, Marin County’s first community-based 24-hour facility serving residents with mental illness. The name honors Thomas Buckelew, an early settler and Spanish land grantee of the property where the house stood.
Today, Buckelew has grown into the North Bay’s largest nonprofit provider of comprehensive care serving four counties and supporting individuals at every stage of their recovery journey—from crisis intervention to recovery to long-term resilience, and everything in between.
