Are you a college or university student looking for valuable hands-on experience in mental health services? Interested in becoming a campus ambassador for suicide prevention? Buckelew Programs offers two exciting opportunities for students to earn practicum and volunteer hours while working in essential mental health services. Internship Program

Gain hands-on experience and practicum hours on our Crisis Hotline, contributing to critical suicide prevention efforts.

What We Offer:

  • Over 40 hours of training
  • Live, interactive presentations, training, role plays, and crisis call shadowing
  • 988 Lifeline interactive self-paced online training modules
  • Regular supervision and support
  • Access to robust Relias Training Library

What We Expect:

  • Minimum 1-year commitment (at least 200 hours) volunteering on the 988 Hotline (flexible based on placement requirements)
  • Professional conduct, adhering to 988 Lifeline Clinical Standards
  • Attend monthly supervision meeting
Campus_Ambassadors

988 Campus Ambassadors

Be a champion for mental health on your campus and in your community! As a 988 Campus Ambassador, you’ll help raise awareness for 988 and mental health support on campus. This role focuses on outreach, advocacy, and support for suicide prevention efforts.

What You’ll Do:

  • Table and promote 988 on campus
  • Advocate for mental health and suicide prevention
  • Collaborate with the Buckelew Outreach Coordinator
  • Organize and attend at least 1 event per month
  • Receive and share 988 swag
