Notes from Chris Kughn, CEO Buckelew Programs

Hello Neighbors,

As we find ourselves in the middle of Week Three of shelter in place for COVID-19, I have been impressed and heartened by the high-quality commitment to our clients, team work and patience in uncertain times that everyone at Buckelew Programs has brought forth. I see examples in action everyday of our values: Trust, Integrity, Unconditional Regard, Collaborative Exploration and Belonging.

We are also in deep gratitude for the responsiveness and proactive support from our community. Many have reached out to us, and both institutional and individual donors have pledged their support. We are especially grateful to our partners at Community Foundation Sonoma County and Redwood Credit Union for issuing generous grants to address our programs’ urgent needs in light of the current crisisWe feel the love out there and the acknowledgement that in times of sickness and upheaval, there is support. It’s what we give our clients; it’s what you so generously have given to us. Thank you.

During this time of need, Buckelew Programs is considered an “essential service”, and our staff continue to work on the frontlines to address basic needs such as housing, food, and healthcare, including behavioral health, for our most vulnerable community members. Buckelew Programs is committed to caring for our clients, and to keeping our staff safe and healthy while doing this important work.

We are here in solidarity. We stand strong--with you--to build Healthier Lives -Stronger Communities.

Live well,

Chris Kughn,  CEO

P.S. A mental heath reminder- Please remember to nurture yourself: self-care is the fuel that allows us to give more fully to others.
