Maternidad y Esperanza Marin
Maternidad y Esperanza Marin is an effective, multi-pronged approach aimed at improving the social and emotional well-being of expectant mothers, young children, and parents of children aged 0-3. Funded through the Bella Vista Foundation, the program utilizes group sessions, home visits, and referrals, all integrated with primary healthcare services at Marin Community Clinics. Services are provided in English and Spanish by our fully bilingual/bicultural staff. Grupo Esperanza is a weekly Spanish-speaking postpartum support group for clients referred from the Marin Community Clinic. This group program has proven highly effective in alleviating isolation and stress experienced by new mothers. Grupo Esperanza discussions include child development, health and nutrition, and effective caregiving. Childcare is provided by Maternidad y Esperanza Marin alumni, and mothers are encouraged to bring their children in order not to miss a meeting.
